Hard Drive Clock

A friend of mine did this over ten years ago.

The clock broke a few years back, and I just kept meaning to buy new clock guts.

I finally popped for the six bucks.

This was a ten megabyte hard drive from an IBM 8088. Your microwave has more RAM than this computer did. And a 10 MB hard drive was huge at the time. But Ronald Reagan was President when this computer was built.

This pitiful device, with dramatically less brainpower than a modern cell phone was a $12,000 machine when it was new.

Making this, I guess, the most expensive cheap clock ever.
