
There's an area of Olathe that burst out with lights a few years back. It lacks the catchy name and singular streetness of Candy Cane Lane, but still pretty cool.

Not quite as lit-up-like-day this year as in years past, though there's still a higher than average amount of stuff on display.

I think maybe it started as a keeping-up-with-the-Joneses kind of thing, and maybe it's petering out as people realize how much other stuff there is left to charge.

Still, I have to say gaudy displays do more to cheer your neighbors than personal watercraft and crew cab pickups.
