Train Bridge at Night



It's awkward climbing up to it, but worth it. I guess when the railroads quit using one of these bridges, they just cut off the rails going to it and leave the structure up rather than demolishing it.



I'm not sure why unless it's because they figure they might hook tracks back up to it someday and refurbish it. You'd save some money on demolition, I guess, but you'll pay that sooner or later.



Or maybe they leave these things up so photographers will have interesting subjects to shoot. And for homeless guys to get across the river, as several we met told us they'd used this bridge to do.
