Her wheels were basically junk off discarded Wal-Mart bikes at this point, and given her design she will eventually need hand-built tandem/touring wheels with at least 40 double-butted spokes on double rims with stout hubs.
A neighbor a couple years back left a wheelset from a Wal-Mart special on my doorstep as if it were a favor, and I only let them collect dust for a year or so before I got rid of them. Could use that back wheel now, as it'd be better than nothing.
