Ten, Nine, Eight...

Of course we've been out launching rockets. What did you think, we'd skip it just because we had the most awesome weather since Thanksgiving for it?

We've been out twice, actually. Most of the fleet has gotten '07 flights in, in fact, and new rockets are under construction. It's spring training for the Lobster Land National Pastime.

We haven't lost any rockets this year, but we had a close call with Gonzo IV. Em couldn't find him, and then a car drove up with a mother and son, who had seen it come down and heard the ruckus and figured any rockets falling out of the sky were probably ours. Good deal, too, because I don't think a Gonzo V will be in the budget for awhile. I'm building off the bulk purchases of tubes, nose cones and rings I did last fall.

Well, we did sort of lose a rocket. Needle kind of self-destructed. We got him back, except for part of his nose cone. And his engine hook, which blew off the side of him (apparently). He has a funny scorch on the side where the engine hook used to be, but I knew the engine couldn't have blown out the side, it was intact. Weird.

And Wildcat got so worse-for-wear I let Em have him for a display piece in her bedroom.
